Due to circumstances completely out of the control of the team at Scottish Garelochhead Marches, the planned event on the 30th April and 1st May will not be able to go ahead.
We can’t begin to tell you how frustrating & sad that this is and I appreciate the upset & inconvenience that is will cause all of you as well.
This was supposed to be a fantastic meet up after the pandemic that has affected so many of us. It was an opportunity to rekindle a much needed re-focus of likeminded individuals, many who have become like an extended family.
With that being said, all is not lost! We are planning on having a virtual event the same weekend.
This will mean that teams looking to qualify for Nijmegan Marches will still qualify.
We would ask that over the weekend of the 30th April and 1st may, each team completes the required distance and each marcher logs their own route with a GPS tracking app (such as Map My Walk, FitBit, Garmin, etc). After the routes have been completed, all GPS data should be emailed over to sgmgps@tfgevents.co.uk where it will be verified.
For the virtual event, entries will be charged at £25 per marcher, regardless of Military, Civilian or International Military. This will go towards the admin of the event and each marcher that complete the full routes will receive their medal in the post. After the event has concluded, we will collate all GPS data from each marcher and verify it and sign it off as qualified for the Nijmegan Marches.
For the teams that wish to participate in the virtual event, please email us as soon as possible at sgm@tfgevents.co.uk. British Military teams who have already paid £30 per marcher, we will refund you £5.00 per marcher and for Civilian/International Military, we will refund you £115.00 per marcher.
If you decide that you don’t want to join the virtual event and would rather a full refund, please let us know by email at your earliest convenience.
